Is this the first thought that enters your head when you think "Wedding Dance"?
This is normal, for most people dancing is an alien word and just like riding a bike ..... you can't until you are taught how to and once learnt, you never forget!
The first dance is an important part of the wedding reception, so it is a really good idea to seriously consider going for some lessons if one or both of you are a bit challenged in the dancing department.
Your teacher will have a ton of ideas to share with you when it comes to choosing the right dance style for your selected piece of music. Whether it's a waltz, tango, salsa, jive, swing or even hip hop, your teacher will choreograph something that you are completely comfortable with.
From here your teacher will take the stress out of your first dance and replace it with some fun moves and memories you can keep for the rest of your married life.
5 TIPS to keep you on your toes:
1. Ensure you know what type of look you want to project to your guests, this will help your teacher choreograph the dance to match what you have in mind.
2. Have your music selected before your first dance lesson. If you have songs in mind that are meaningful to you...listen to them carefully; sometimes there is wording that may be inappropriate.
3. If you have both selected your wedding shoes take them with you to your dance lessons.
4. Try to find out how big the space is for you to dance in, then your dance teacher will ensure your dance routine will only be inside that size
5. Practise what you have learnt , this will save you time and money !
6. Have fun doing this together – it is one of the few wedding preparation items which is really just for the two of you.
