One of my new favourite things when it comes to wedding products and services are wedding websites. While they have been around in the States for a good few years now, they are starting to catch on here in New Zealand with a vengeance and they are fantastic, a big time and stress saver for couples!
So many couples have guests coming from all over the globe and have fairly complicated itinerary’s and need to pass on a lot of information to their guests, a wedding website is the perfect tool to do that. You can include everything on the website from your story, to venue info, to an RSVP system, to requesting your guests favourite songs (a list which you can then pass on to your DJ).
Most websites are template based and can be customised to your wedding colours and or theme and you can keep up-dating the site with new and additional information.
After the wedding you can add wedding photos, video and honeymoon photos. Guests can post comments and upload their photos too, giving you access to a whole load of additional photos you may not have been given.
It is also a nice for those guests who are unable to attend to still feel part of the wedding as they will still be kept in the loop as to what is happening (and see all the photos and activities).
I still recommend sending out a formal invitation (posted is always nice), but instead of including ALL the wedding details on or in the invitation, direct guests to your wedding website. There will obviously still be a few guests who won’t be quite as web savvy as most (older guests for example), but these will be few and far between and the time and stress saving benefits to you will be huge.
