Roseanne & Brett's Wedding

Roseanne Hogan is an infectious bubbly person that you can’t help but instantly like. With an absolute passion for all things pink, it was an absolute given that her wedding was going to be a pink one! On Saturday the 29^th of October 2011 Roseanne married her long time boyfriend, Warriors player Brett Seymour, in what can only be described as a fairytale princess wedding.

The couple who are originally from Australia and have been together for ten years, met one night in a bar. It was literally love at first sight and they have been together ever since.
Here is their wedding story...

The Ceremony... 

Roseanne & Brett were married at St Matthews in the City in front of just over 130 friends and family.

Both had 5 attendants each, the bridesmaids wore full length pale pink satin halter neck dresses.  The maid of honour carried “Pinky”, the couples little dog, down the aisle and groomsman Jonathan escorted flower girl Brittney down the aisle.

Roseanne, who was walked down the aisle by her dad, wowed her guests in her Vera Wang deep cerise wedding gown. Brett wore a tie and a buttonhole in the same colour as his brides dress (and also wore one of the biggest smiles I have ever seen on a groom!)

After the ceremony the bridal party were whisked away for photos in a stretch hummer (yellow as there are no pink ones in New Zealand).

The Reception...

Roseanne & Brett’s wedding reception was held on The Floating Pavilion in the Viaduct. All the guests who attended the ceremony were invited to the reception.

A pink carpet covered the gangway while pink flamingos peeked out from the plant pots. Guests initially enjoyed pink slushy cocktails and canapés on the deck while taking in the sights and sounds of the Viaduct.

The reception room was decorated with white ceiling drapes and a fairy light curtain, guest tables were dressed with white linen and beautiful tall centrepieces with pink and white feather plumes. Chairs were covered with white chair covers and accented with a cerise bow.

Guests received colour co-ordinated favours – something special for the boys and something for the girls. Roseanne personally made all the place names – in cerise pink of course.

A buffet dinner was served; the selection was carefully chosen to cater for a variety of tastes, including vegetarians.

There was also a colour co-ordinated candy station, which the guests tucked into with great gusto.

The wedding cake was a pink fairytale castle cake with crystal detail.

Entertainment included a band (of which Roseanne’s uncle is the drummer) and a photo booth was set up for the evening for guests to take photos and sign the guest book. Good friend Anthony Kidd was the MC for the evening and kept guests well entertained.

Bride arriving at the alter – she actually did a little jump for joy!

The first kiss – that was a real kiss!

The groom’s speech – when a man gets so welled up and emotional in front of all his friends when talking about his bride, you know how much she means to him.

The bride’s speech – she said that she was living her fairytale wedding – what more can a girl want?

The first dance – while Brett had pretty much given his bride free reign, on the choice of song for the first dance he chose and it was a goodie!

Other things that were big hits – the venue, the cocktail slushy’s, the candy station, the photo booth, a good MC.
